Los Angeles-based Wiretap Records has announced the signing of Sadlands, a Brooklyn indie-punk collective formed by members of notable underground bands. The group is set to release their debut album 'Try To Have A Little Fun' this fall, marking another milestone in the evolving digital music landscape.
A Fresh Voice in Alternative Music
Sadlands, following in the footsteps of other groundbreaking digital-era artists, brings together songwriters Sam Campanile and Jess Lane on guitars and vocals, with Louis Rabeno on bass and Harley Cox on drums. Their sound masterfully combines vulnerable storytelling with explosive musical energy.
Behind "Twin Flame"
The band's debut single, "Twin Flame," explores themes of self-discovery and spiritual exploitation. Campanile drew inspiration from a documentary about cult manipulation, crafting a narrative that resonates with contemporary social issues and the search for authentic connection in an increasingly isolated world.
"This song is about the struggles of self-doubt, uncertainty, and a search for meaning," explains Campanile. "It's intended to be a cautionary tale, explaining how easy it is to fall prey to others when there's a strong desire for love and a sense of purpose."
Professional Production and Northeast Tour
The album, recorded in Pennsylvania's Poconos with Matt Schimelfenig (Gladie) and mastered by Ian Farmer (Modern Baseball), showcases the band's commitment to excellence and diversity in their craft. The group has announced several Northeast tour dates, including shows in Medford, Manchester, Queens, Salem, and Brooklyn.
